Special Journal Club Session: Critique a Systematic Scoping Review
Facilitated by Dr. Terry Klassen, this one hour session proceed through the concepts of methodically critiquing a systematic scoping review. Dr. Klassen is a world-renowned expert in the field of systematic reviews. He is the Founder of the Cochrane Child Health section of the Cochrane Collaboration and the Founding Director of Alberta Research Centre for Health Evidence (ARCHE), a major contributor of systematic review research in child health. The session will commence at 12 pm so please arrive between 11:30 am and 12 pm.

Dr. Klassen will open the session with a definition of a scoping review, how it compares to a “regular” systematic review and possible implications in critiquing approach. The closest review model remains the Users’ Guides Critical Appraisal Worksheet for Systematic Review. Please contribute a poster to the Cascade of Knowledge at CHLA 2012. Topics will not be restricted to a theme. One presenter will be allowed a brief (5 minute) oral introduction of their poster at the “Opening of Posters” on Wednesday June 13, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Presenters are required to staff posters for the duration of the Opening (1:30-3:30pm). Posters will be open to viewing by conference delegates for two days of the conference (June 13-14).

Veuillez contribuer une affiche à la Cascade de savoirs à ABSC 2012. Aucun thème spécifique ne sera imposé. Un des auteurs de l’affiche sera prié d’introduire très brièvement (5 minutes) son affiche à toute l’assemblée pendant l’ouverture des affiches (le 13 juin à 13:30). Vous devez assurer la présence de personnel à votre emplacement d’affichage imprimé pendant l’ouverture (13:30-15:00). Les affiches seront exposées aux délégués pendant deux jours (le 13 et le 14 juin).

On October 20, 1976 nineteen people working in health libraries across Manitoba met at the Manitoba Association of Registered Nurses. Voting unanimously to “form a group” the group was named the Manitoba Health Sciences Libraries. This was the beginning of a rich history of collaboration and achievements for the Manitoba Health Libraries Association and most recently Manitoba Association of Health Information Providers.
Please join us for dinner on December 8th, to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of MAHIP/MHLA.
