Hello MAHIP Members and Potential Members,
 
2009 was a very successful year for our organization.  Through the dedicated hard work, we were able to successfully host the CHLA 2009 Conference. 
 
The MAHIP AGM was held September 17th and the new executive is in place.  Information on the new executive can be found on our Executive page.
 
To close out this year, I would like to invite members and anyone interested in membership to a meeting and Seasonal Social at my home on December 10th from 4:30 – 7:00 pm.  Wine and snacks will be provided but please feel free to bring something to share.

Agenda
1.  Meet and Greet

2.  Recommendations on how to spend conference funds
• We would like to have a general discussion with members about how the funds should be spent.  The Manitoba Library Association conference is upcoming and we could arrange CE as part of that event.  But we are looking for your ideas.

3.  Change of MAHIP name
• There are quite a number of members who have suggested that the name of the organization be changed back to the Manitoba Health  Libraries Association.  We are open to pursuing this course of action but wish to confirm that this is what members would like.

 4.  Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP)
• Several members are interested in pursuing AHIP designation.  Christine Shaw-Daigle will report on what is involved and how MAHIP can support.

5.  Journal Club 2010
• We have had a number of journal clubs in the past and our ready to schedule them for the future.  Traditional format has been at lunch at the Neil John Maclean.   Attendees pay $5.00 for a light lunch.  We are seeking volunteers to present on the following dates:
 - January 8th
 - February 12th
 - March 12th
 - April 16th
 - May 14th
